Effective today, The Turning Gate's shop has moved to Gumroad. I may write more about our reasons for moving at a later time, but here's what you'll need to know for now.
Links throughout our site should funnel you to our "Get Backlight" page. On that page, you will find buttons allowing Backlight and its add-ons to be purchased from our new shop on Gumroad.
Prices on some items have been adjusted upward. For example, the updated price for Backlight 6 is now $150 USD. However, we have also implemented Gumroad's "purchasing power parity" feature, which adjusts pricing for all items downward for weaker currencies.
For purchases on Gumroad, Gumroad is the "Merchant of Record", and will be handling invoices, etc.
If you have registered a Gumroad account, purchases from The Turning Gate's Gumroad shop will appear in your Gumroad Library, and you can re-download your files there.
For now, customers may continue to access purchased downloads via SendOwl. However, we do plan to discontinue our SendOwl plan in the near future. Therefore, you may wish to download backups of your purchased files.
We will be keeping records of past purchases, and you may reach out to us in the future to recover your Backlight installer if needed.
All previous purchases made on SendOwl have been migrated to our backend system and will continue to work alongside any new purchases.
Existing installs of Backlight should be unaffected by this change. If you do experience any issues installing or updating Backlight, let us know.
