Getting Started

Theater is a module for Backlight, our backend content management system.

1. If not already installed, follow the installation documents here to install Backlight:

2. Follow the installation documents to install the Wordpress Add-on:

v1.2.1 (2017-07-07)

IMPORTANT: If using a previous version, backlight/modules/module-wordpress, do not delete it
while continuing to use Okapi modules on your website.
You should delete this only after fully replacing your in-use Okapi templates with Pangolin.
  • Changes enqueue of style.css to be automatic for child themes.
  • Fixes Hide Featured Image on Single Post
  • Fixed separation of comma between categories and tags in the post footer
  • Updates is_single() in some places where is_singular() is more appropriate
  • Updates stylesheets and layout

To update to Wordpress Add-on 1.2.1:

Upload the following files and directory:
  • backlight/modules/pangolin-wordpress/

In Backlight's admin, go to Designer ⇒ Templates, then click the name of your theme template. On the subsequent page, click “Export Theme” to update your theme in Wordpress.


v1.2.0 (2017-06-30)

  • Adds support for “Pangolin” design modules

To update to Theater 1.2.0:

IMPORTANT: If using a previous version, backlight/modules/module-wordpress, do not delete it

2. Clear the Designer Template Cache by visiting Backlight → Designer → Templates → Clear Template Cache


v1.0.2 (2016-11-25)

  • Adds customizer option to show links to adjacent posts on single pages; links are hidden by default.
  • Adds native support for Google Analytics, as configured in Backlight's Settings.
  • Adds support for masthead and footer appearing in the main content column.
  • Adds PHPlugins locations ttg_main_top, ttg_main_bottom, ttg_tray01_top, ttg_tray01_bottom, ttg_tray02_top, ttg_tray02_bottom
  • Changed theme screenshot.
  • Changed post date to always appear immediately before content, and never between the title and featured image.
  • Changes behaviour when used as a parent theme, the style.css is no longer force-loaded; the child theme should load this file.
  • Fixes wrapping of adjacent post links in is_single() condition.

To update to Wordpress Add-on 1.0.2:

Remove and re-upload the following files and directory:
